Boyle (NORTH BY NORTHWEST), Henry Bumstead (TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD), Albert Nozaki (THE WAR OF THE WORLDS) and Harold Michelson (STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE), as well as master cinematographers Haskell Wexler (IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT) and Conrad L. Hall (IN COLD BLOOD).

Robert F. Boyle, the eminent Hollywood production designer who created some of the most memorable scenes and images in cinematic history — Cary Grant clinging to Mount Rushmore in “North by Northwest,” the bird’s-eye view of the seagull attack in “The Birds,” the colorfully ramshackle shtetl for “Fiddler on the Roof” — died on Sunday in Los Angeles. He was 100.
Robert Boyle, the acclaimed art director who (among other things) helped Alfred Hitchcock create some of the most lasting images in motion-picture history, has died, according to the New York Times. Boyle was 100 years old.
He shared Oscar nominations for best art direction on the films 'Fiddler on the Roof,' 'Gaily, Gaily,' 'North by Northwest' and 'The Shootist.' He was awarded an honorary Academy Award in 2008.
